- The final user will have to find it easy to use.
This must be the main guideline while developing this project.
The first implication of this choice is that FacServe shall not
ask the final users to learn something new in order to send faxes
from their PCs, Macs, whatever. Sending a fax must be as easy as
printing a page. Receiving a fax must be as easy as receiving an email.
- FacServe must be able to send outgoing faxes and receive incoming
faxes through a analog modem (we can obviusly use existing software
for this).
- There must be a shared address book. FacServe must
allow users to define groups of recipients and
send faxes by interactively choosing from a list of recipients and groups
- No user authentication should be required by default to send faxes or
to see received ones. Users authentication can be a configurable option
- History of sent and received faxes must be available at any time
